SCHOLARSHIPS REGULATION 2016
1. | The sixth edition of the International Masterclasses organized by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, in collaboration with the city of Narni, will take place in Narni from the 11th to the 28th of August, 2016. The calendar of the individual classes will be determined by the various professors. The course offerings for 2016 will be opera studio, piano, flute, oboe, horn, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, timpani and percussion, composition, guitar. |
2. | The following scholarships for best soloistic interpretation, which will be awarded through an audition process open to all students who indicate their interest on the registration form, will be awarded by the Directorate. |
3. | The works presented must be original, and not transcriptions, and each candidate must communicate the title, author and duration of his or her selections by sending an email by the 20th of July, 2016. |
4. | Candidates will receive a personal communication regarding the details of the audition. |
5. | Examiners commission can interrupt the performance anytime during the audition. |
6. | For all candidates needing piano accompanying, a pianist will be at disposal at the audition. There will be also a possibility for a rehearsal of 15 minutes for each candidate to be used before audition on the day and time communicated by Secretary. |
7. | The commission’s decision is final. The scholarships may remain unassigned in the case that no performance is deemed suitable. |
8. | The students will be divided in two groups:
- Students of the first period between the 11th and the 19th of August: the audition will be on 17th of August. - Students of the second period between the 20th and the 28th of August: the audition will be on the 19th of August. -For the others starting courses from 21st onwards, the audition will be held on the 20th of August. The students will receive by email the official schedule once it is ready. |
9. | All dates are subject to final confirmation on the official website. |
10. | Final audition will be a concert open to the public where the commission will choose winning students and it will be held on the 21th of August (date still to be confirmed). All finalists are committed to be present in order to compete for the prizes. |
11. | Directorate requests to all scholarships winners to participate to a prize giving concert to be held on 23th August 2016 (date to be confirmed) within the 6th International Festival Luci della Ribalta. It’s compulsory to be present, absence will be considered as a renounce to the prize, exception made for some cases approved by the Directorate. |
12. | In order to participate to the competition for scholarships, all students are requested to pay a contribution of Euro 15,00 at their arrival onsite. |
13. | • A Scholarship of EURO 1,000.00 offered by the Society of Friends of the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. A payment of €500.00 will be reserved for soloists who perform a work by W.A. Mozart, the commission may request anyway to all students performing W.A. Mozart to play a further track of another author. The remaining quote of € 500,00 will be reserved to the others.
• A Scholarship of EURO 300.00 in memory of Maestro Renato Chiesa, offered by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni. (The prize of 300.00 euro can be used just for participating at the next edition of International Masterclasses 2017). • A particularly meritorious student, selected by the Direction, will be offered the possibility of performing in a concert organized by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni. |
