Geneviève Laurenceau is considered one of the brightest representatives of the current French violin.
Her many activities as soloist, chamber concertmaster, festival director and professor make her a highly accomplished musician, living his passion in all its forms.

Born in Strasbourg, Genevieve Laurenceau started playing the violin at age 3 and performed from the age of 9 years with the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra in his hometown. She studied under Wolfgang Marschner and Zakhar Bron in Germany, then studied with Jean-Jacques Kantorow in Rotterdam.
After several international success and first prize at the International Competition Novosibirsk (Russia), she won the Grand Prix of the Académie Maurice Ravel in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in September 2001. The following year, she won the fifth contest "The violin Adami" and realizes a CD on this occasion, with pianist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger.

Geneviève Laurenceau is invited to perform as soloist in major French and international orchestras under the direction of conductors such as Tugan Sokhiev, Ilan Volkov, Michel Plasson, Bruno Mantovani, Walter Weller, Jean-Jacques Kantorow Frederick Lodéon ... It s 'quite happily engaged to chamber music, lately with Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, Anne Gastinel, Philippe Jaroussky, Philippe Bianconi, Bertrand Chamayou, finding in the plurality of ensamble and repertoire a communicative development.

Engaged in the repertoire of her time, she works regularly with composers such as Karol Beffa, Nicolas Bacri, Bruno Mantovani and Philippe Hersant, who dedicates her in summer 2012 "Por che llorax" duo for violin and cello (created at Festival Obernai music with Victor Julien-Laferrière).
Requested by many festivals in France - like Strasbourg, Colmar, Prades, the Serres d'Auteuil, Sceaux, Midem in Cannes - and abroad - Kuhmo (Finland), the Palazetto in Venice, the MDR in Dresden, the NDR Hamburg, the Mehta Foundation in Bombay ... Genevieve Laurenceau played in such prestigious venues as the Theatre du Chatelet, Salle Gaveau, the Halle aux Grains Toulouse, Metz Arsenal, the Opera Theatre of Avignon, the metropolis of Lausanne, the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, the Tapiola Helsinki, Palacio de la Opera in La Coruña, the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Granada, Stadttheater in Weimar ...

Professor Geneviève is regularly invited to the Academy of Dartington (England), where she performed with pianist Stephen Kovacevic, as well as "international violin master classes" in Narni, Italy.
Since September 2014, she is in charge of the violin class at the University College of music and dance Toulouse (ISDAT).

She was part in November 2014 of the International Competition Jury Long-Thibaud violin.

In 2011, Geneviève is elected by the music magazine ResMusica "Artist of the Year", and also has the support of the Safran corporate foundation for music.

Her latest recording, made with pianist David Bismuth, is devoted to French music and will be released in 2015.

Among her concerts last season, the Triple Concerto of Beethoven, gave at the Toulouse hall of grains with Anne Gastinel and Bertrand Chamayou, (National Orchestra of Toulouse Capitol, directed by Tugan Sokhiev ), was filmed by Arte Live Web.

Geneviève Laurenceau is president and artistic director of Obernai Chamber Music Festival.

Since September 2007, she was concertmaster of supersoliste National du Capitole de Toulouse Orchestra.
Geneviève Laurenceau plays a Stradivarius from 1682.

* "Quintet" by César Franck and "Piano Quartet, Op. 30 'Ernest Chausson, with ensamble Musique Oblique (Alpheus ffff Télérama, shock World of Music).
