Domenico Orlando will be the teacher of the Oboe Masterclass from 18th to 22th August during the 6th International Masterclasses Narni 2016.

The M° Orlando, even before finishing his studies, had already started working with several orchestras, playing as first oboe in the Santa Cecilia Youth Orchestra in Rome, under Maestro Myung-Whun Chung, at the age of 18. A few years later he was principal oboe in the San Gallen Symphony Orchestra, in Switzerland, while in January 2000 he was playing in the Bayerischerrundfunk orchestra under Maestro Lorin Maazel. In 2001 he won the position as principal oboe at the Teatro Regio di Torino, where he remained until 2009.

This activity allows him to play regularly with important conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Ashkenazy and many other.  In 2009 he won his current position as Solo Oboe in the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig, under Maestro Riccardo Chailly.
