The M° Salvatore Vella, teacher of the masterclass of flute within the 6th International Masterclasses, will keep his lessons from 18th to 26th August 2016 in the splendid Narni!
M° Vella has worked with numerous orchestras, such as the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Sinfonica RAI di Roma, Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Bellini in Catania, Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the ' Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala di Milano and the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala under the baton of great artists such as Muti,Sawallisch,Temirkanov, Oren, Sinopoli, Inbal, Ceccato, Graf, Argiris ad Gelmetti. He has also been the winner of several competiton, including 2nd prize at the National Competition of Musical Performance "Boario Music 94" of Darfo, 1st Prize at the National Competition for Musical Performance on the Flute "G. Briccialdi" organized by ATEM Briccialdi and 2nd prize - with the first prize not awarded - in the International Competition, "G. Briccialdi" in Rome. In addition, he performed a chamber work with the Bellini Wind Quintet which was awarded a special prize for the best performance of the songs at the 13th edition of the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta. In addition he has performed with the Bellini Ensemble, giving concerts throughout Italy and also tours abroad (Lithuania, Turkey, Malta, Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, Argentina, France, Spain). At the same time he has also carried out an intense teaching activity with Masterclasses and annual summer courses.
In June 2003 and 2006 he was invited to give master- classes in Japan at the atelier of Pearl Flute and the Shobi Academy in Tokyo on behalf of the company of musical instruments Pearl Flute, Japan, for which he has offered testimonial since 2001. Since 1989 he has been First Flute soloist of the Orchestra of the Teatro Bellini in Catania. At the same time, for a three year period, he worked as a Principal Flute with the Orchestra of the Foundation of the National Academy of S. Cecilia in Rome, conducted by Maestro Myung - Whun Chung. From 2001 to 2010, he collaborated with the Orchestra del Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, again in the role of First Flute.
Recently he was appointedprofessor at the Institute of Musical Studies P. I. Tchaikovsky Nocera Terinese (CZ). He plays a 14K Pearl Opera flute.
