MASTERCLASSES REGULATION

1. The Sixth Edition of the International Masterclasses organized by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, in collaboration with the city of Narni, will take place in Narni from the 11th to the 28th of August, 2016. The calendar of the individual classes will be determined by the various professors. The course offerings for 2016 will be opera studio, piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, timpani and percussion, composition, guitar, saxophone.
2. The courses are open to all musicians regardless of age or nationality, who will be classified as either ACTIVE participants or AUDITORS. At the discretion of the teacher an admission exam may be requested for the active participants.
3. Excluding exceptions that may be accorded by the Directors, each course will start only when a minimum number of 8 active participants has been reached. The maximum number of participants in a course will be determined by each individual teacher. The exact number of lessons will be 5 as standard, if different it will be displayed in the page Masterclasses Courses and Teachers , click on the teacher name, of the official website www.mozartitaliaterni.org
4. The registration form must be filled out by all ACTIVE students and AUDITORS within the 20th July 2016. In certain limited cases, the Directorate may decide, at its sole discretion, to accept applications made after the deadline of July 20th, 2016.

The registration must be:

- Downloaded from the link hereunder and filled it out, then can be rather sent by email at the address

- Only in case of e mail unavailability, it can also be sent via registered mail, postmarked on or before July 20th, 2016, to the administration office of Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, Viale della Stazione 52, Terni 05100 (TR) Italy.

To all participants students subscribing within the 3th of May 2016, the Directorate will apply a discount on the tuition quote of: Euro 30,00 for the courses at Point 6 A) E); of Euro 15,00 for the remaining courses at Point 6 B) C) D).

You can apply for a discount just if you send all the documentation (see point 5 below) plus the bank transfer receipt. Regarding the pictures and the list of music, you can send them later. 

5. Applicants must include with their registration form:

- 2 passport-sized photos
- Copy of a photo ID and fiscal code (for residents of Italy)
- Curriculum (only active students)
- List of the music proposed for the course (only for active students)
- In the case of a minor, signed authorization of a parent or guardian, including copy of a photo ID of the undersigned and his or her fiscal code (for Italian citizens)

FOR PARTICIPATING STUDENTS: A COPY OF A BANK TRANSFER OF EURO 130.00 (This amount covers the cost of registration for the Masterclasses and the obligatory association fee of the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni)

FOR AUDITING PARTICIPANTS: A COPY OF A BANK TRANSFER OF EURO 100.00(This amount covers the cost of registration and tuition as auditors for the Masterclasses and the obligatory association fee of the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni) made out to:

6. Tuition for ACTIVE students will be paid directly at the administration office of the Association, Teatro Manini, Narni, before the beginning of the Masterclasses. The fees are as follows:

A) VIOLIN: M° HERZL, M° LOMEIKO, M° ZHISLIN; PIANO: M° SARCEVIC - EURO 320,00

B) VOICE/OPERA: M° LEE; PIANO: M° TOZZI; TIMPANI AND PERCUSSION: M° CEBALLOS / M° BITONDO- EURO 210,00

C) ORCHESTRAL CONDUCYING WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS: M° VIALE - EURO 180,00

D) MUSIC COMPOSITION SEMINAR: M° TELLI ; OBOE: M° ORLANDO - EURO 160,00

E) ALL OTHER COURSES - EURO 260,00

F) CELLO SPECIAL STAGE: M° GARIOUD - EURO 190,00

G) VIOLIN SPECIAL STAGE: M° CUSANO - EURO 160,00

H) M° VIOLA: STANDARD FORMULA -  EURO 260,00; STAGE FORMULA - 1 INDIVIDUAL LESSON + BRASS ENSEMBLE EURO 160 ,00 - 3 INDIVIDUAL LESSONS + BRASS ENSEMBLE - EURO 250,00 (100,00 Euro to pour through bank transfer at the moment of subscription).

7. In the case of withdrawal from a course, the registration fee will not be reimbursed. A reimbursement will be made under the sole circumstance that the organization is forced to annul the course for reasons independent of the will of the participants. Tuition for the courses will not be reimbursed for any reason once the courses have begun.
8. The organization is not responsible for eventual damage to persons or effects which might occur during the period of the courses in the spaces reserved for classes, studios and concerts.
9. Participants must bring on site two printed copies of the music they propose, with the relative piano sheet music, appropriate attire for concerts and a music stand.
10. An official certificate of attendance will be issued to each student at the end of the courses. All the participants and auditors will automatically subscribe as ordinary member for 2016 to the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni.
11. Public concerts are planned for the most proficient students. These will be held in important venues of Narni, and in other cities of the Province of Terni in the 6th International Festival Luci della Ribalta. Performances may consist of solo recitals or Ensemble performances (with their respective rehearsals) in which students are expected to participate, if their teacher deems it opportune.
12. Accompanying pianists will be available for the students, upon request from the teacher.
13. The following scholarships for best soloistic interpretation, which will be awarded through an audition process open to all students who indicate their interest on the registration form, will be awarded by the Directorate( Except for art. 6, point G). For any further information please read the relevant Competition Rules on the page Scholarships of the official website.

In order to participate to the competition for scholarships, all students are requested to pay a contribution of Euro 15,00 at their arrival onsite.

• A Scholarship of EURO 1,000.00 offered by the Society of Friends of the Mozarteum University of Salzburg A payment of €500.00 will be reserved for soloists who perform a work by W.A. Mozart, the remaining quote of € 500,00 will be reserved to the others. The commission may request anyway to all students performing W.A. Mozart to play a further track of another author.

• A Scholarship of EURO 300.00 in memory of Maestro Renato Chiesa, offered by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni. (The prize of 300.00 euro can be used just for participating at the next edition of International Masterclasses 2017).

A particularly meritorious student, selected by the Direction, will be offered the possibility of performing in a concert organized by the Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni.

Di origine danese/svizzera, classe 1994, Niklas Walentin è ricercato a livello internazionale per le sue esibizioni come solista e musicista da camera, e il suo lavoro come tutor in masterclass. Lavora anche come direttore artistico per diversi artisti internazionali serie di concerti e festival. Attualmente sono in lavorazione 3 nuovi album con nuovissimi concerti per violino di compositori scandinavi, un virtuoso del jazz album e la raccolta di opere per violino di Brahms. Come solista appare spesso con direttori come Mario Venzago, Marc Soustro, Henrik Schäfer e Jean Thorell. Lui suona recital e concerti in luoghi prestigiosi come il Teatro Mariinsky e la Filarmonica di San Pietroburgo, Carnegie Hall di New York, The Phillips Collection di Washington e il Festival di Verbier in Svizzera. Ha vinto il triplo premio del 9° Concorso Internazionale di Violino Carl Nielsen e ne ha ricevuti più di 20 premi musicali internazionali. Il suo sincero lavoro per Carl Nielsen lo ha portato alla registrazione di "4 Grand Works for violin by Carl Nielsen" nel 2015 è stata annunciata come Registrazione della settimana dalla Radio nazionale danese dopo la sua uscita alla Carnegie Hall, e nel 2017 il Carl Nielsen Award è stato assegnato a Niklas. Nel 2018 la Carl Nielsen Society gli ha conferito il Premio di Onore per il suo lavoro con la musica di Carl Nielsen. Per due volte è stato insignito del "The Young Elite Award" dal Consiglio d'Arte Danese e della stimatissima Regina Anche la Fondazione Margrethe e Principe Henrik ha fatto donazioni a Niklas Walentin. Sia la Radio Nazionale Danese e la società dei critici danesi ha riconosciuto il suo lavoro assegnandogli il premio "Talent of the Year" 2013 e il premio danese Premio della Critica 2015. Niklas Walentin ha già pubblicato 6 album. ultimamente nel 2020 la raccolta delle sonate solistiche del maestro virtuoso Eugéne Ysaÿe per la casa discografica internazionale Naxos, che per prima inserisce la sonata scoperta e incompiuta nel la sua forma incontaminata. Niklas Walentin è, oltre alla sua carriera da solista, un musicista da camera di grande esperienza e con il Trio Vitruvi è in tournée ovunque, dagli abitanti della Danimarca all'estremo oriente della Cina. Il Trio Vitruvi si è formato nell'estate del 2013 da allora ha vinto il 1° premio e il premio "Preferito dal pubblico" al concorso nazionale di musica da camera della radio danese 2014, e il primo premio al concorso internazionale di musica da camera di Jurmala. Il Trio Vitruvi è stato accolto dalla primavera 2015 ECMA, Accademia Europea di Musica da Camera. Il Trio Vitruvi si è esibito regolarmente alla Wigmore Hall, Sale Cortôt di Parigi e il Festival di Ghent, in Belgio. L'ensemble Trio Vitruvi è anche il fondatore della pluripremiata performance KAMMERBALLETTEN, che combina musica da camera classica e nuove coreografie di balletto. Niklas suona un J. F. Pressenda, acquistato e prestato appositamente per lui dalla The Augustinus Foundation. Le corde sono di Jargar Strings. MICHELANGELO CARBONARA nato a Salerno, deve la sua formazione pianistica principalmente alle personalità di Sergio Perticaroli, William Grant Naboré e Fou Ts’ong. Si diploma nel 1996 con il massimo dei voti sotto la guida di Fausto Di Cesare. Nel 1999 termina il corso di perfezionamento triennale presso l’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia con il massimo dei voti, vincendo inoltre la borsa di studio quale migliore diplomato dell’anno nella classe di Sergio Perticaroli. Si è inoltre perfezionato presso il Mozarteum di Salisburgo e l’Academie Musicale di Villecroze, in Francia. Ha seguito masterclasses tenute da Bruno Canino, Dominique Merlet e Gyorgy Sandor. Dal 2001 è stato scelto per seguire le esclusive masterclasses presso l’International Piano Foundation “Theo Lieven” di Cadenabbia e l’International Piano Academy Lake-Como presieduta da Martha Argerich. Ha studiato pianoforte con grandi Maestri del calibro di Leon Fleisher, Dimitri Bashkirov, Claude Frank, Menahem Pressler, Andreas Staier, Peter Frankl e Alicia De Larrocha, musica da camera con il Trio di Trieste e accompagnamento di cantanti con Graham Johnson. E’ vincitore di 17 premi in concorsi internazionali (tra cui allo Schubert di Dortmund). Nel 2003 ha debuttato in Cina, esibendosi fra l’altro al Conservatorio Centrale di Pechino. Nel giugno 2007 ha debuttato alla Carnegie Hall di New York e oggi la sua carriera lo porta a esibirsi in numerosi paesi del mondo (Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Inghilterra, Repubblica Ceca, Croazia, Romania, Malta, Corea del Sud, Cina, Giappone, Stati Uniti d’America, Canada). In Italia ha suonato in alcune tra le sale più prestigiose, come l’Auditorium Parco della Musica a Roma, l’Auditorium e la Sala Verdi a Milano e il Lingotto di Torino. Ha inciso per Papageno, Tactus, Suonare Records, Brilliant Classics, Piano Classics, Egea, Nascor-Ysaye Records-Harmonia Mundi. Affianca all’attività concertistica quella didattica, in qualità di insegnante di pianoforte, musica da camera e materie teoriche. Ha insegnato musica da camera per l’USAC presso l’Università della Tuscia di Viterbo. Ha inoltre tenuto masterclass in Romania, Cina e Canada. Nel 2005 è stato scelto quale testimonial della musica italiana al Premio Nazionale delle Arti indetto dal Ministero
