Organised by Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, sponsored by the Narni City Council and with the precious support of Carit Foundation, the 9th International Festival Luci della Ribalta is about to start.
It’s a very special start, confirming the initial expectations that made such a unique and prestigious event on an international level.
The Festival is characterised by the excellence of the artists, guests and musical events, involving for three weeks the historical village of Narni and its buildings, streets and mansions thanks to the splendour of classic music introducing new interesting elements.
The tireless leader of the Festival, the Artistic Director Anais Lee, President of Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni, offers from August the 11th to the 29th a varied program including more than 50 events, among which one, on August the 28th, will be taking place in Palazzo Mazzancolli, the headquarter of the State Archive in Terni.
Narni is about to welcome, for the ninth consecutive year, a special event promoting the great classic music having amazing performers coming from different part of the world and offering a free space where people can meet the artists during the Festival.
The Festival will be officially starting on August the 11th at Corte del Palazzo Comunale with a concert of Felice Cusano, one of the best violinist ever, who will be playing together with his son Dario at the piano.
On the 12th Quartetto EOS, one of the most affirmed, winner of the important Abbiati - Farulli 2018 award, will be performing having Elia Chiesa, violin, Giacomo del Papa, violin, Alessandro Acqui, viola and Silvia Ancarani, cello.
For the 4th consecutive year the beautiful location of Chiostro di Sant’Agostino in Narni will be the background to a prestigious musical event: on August the 14th the Festival opening concert, starring, in the first part, Calogero Palermo First Clarinet in the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam Orchestra, together with Accademia Santa Cecilia Quintet First Flute Andrea Oliva, First Oboe Francesco Di Rosa, First Bassoon Andrea Zucco and First Horn Guglielmo Pellarin.
Other two powerful Quartets will be performing as special guests, Abel Quartet, winner of many prestigious awards in Wien, Lyon and Geneve and Quartetto Werther, recent winner of Boccherini award.
In collaboration with Terni City Council, an octet for strings concert on August the 28th will be taking place in the courtyard of Palazzo Mazzancolli, headquarter of the State Archive in Terni, performing Abel Quartet and Quartetto EOS together.
This is a very special event, confirming, as President Anais Lee stated, a great moment and happy return to the city of Terni and a gift to Terni citizens.
Among the prestigious international guests, figure the cellist David Eggert, best interpreter ever; Aron Chiesa, First solo Clarinet in the Sinfonieorchester Basel and winner of several important awards as the Carl Nielsen International Competition, who will be performing a recital together with Michelangelo Carbonara at the piano on August the 19th.
On the 21st Abel Quartet and clarinettist Aron Chiesa will be surprising the audience in a beautiful concert. Confirmed other important events as the concert offered to the loving memory of Renato Chiesa, who created the Festival together with Anais Lee, and Gran Gala on the 27th having Yuri Zhislin as the director of Luci della Ribalta Orchestra, together with Alessandro Viale, but performing also as solo.
The cellist Luca Pincini and the pianist Gilda Buttà will be playing together offering unique emotions to the audience.
Confirmed this year also the 9th International Masterclasses from August the 9th to 30th where around 300 guests are expected to come from all 5 continents, among them approximately 130 students and 19 professors from India, Japan, Portugal, Romania, Mexico, Great Britain, Indonesia and South Korea.
The International Masterclasses are a unique experience where students can learn together with famous artists the orchestra instruments, piano, canto, conduction and composition but it’s a great chance to meet new friends and experience the intercultural environment.
Among the interesting thematic seminars, space for electronic music with Massimo Massimi.
Chiostro di Sant’Agostino will be hosting Spazio World and South Korea continues to be the protagonist.
Following the success of the Korean art exhibition promoted in the 8th Festival Luci della Ribalta and in cooperation with Istituto Culturale Coreano in Italia, 2016 movie “Train to Busan” will be shown, presented at Cannes Film Festival and Festival del Cinema di Roma, in the background of a Korean costumes parade together with South Korea videos and photos screening.
The 9th International Festival Luci della Ribalta this year promotes, in collaboration with Associazione SATOR, a double photo contest having, in its first section #clicklucidellaribalta2019, Festival shoots on Instagram and, in its second section Ritratti D’Autore, shoots as for CD cover and photobooks of the artists portrayed in a formal or a spontaneous way.
The selected photos will be screened and awarded on the 29th in the big music evening party.
Among the afternoon events, one is dedicated to tenor Alvinio Misciano curated by Marco Piantone in Teatro Comunale in Narni and the concerts “Note e stelle alla ribalta” in Chiesa di Santa Maria Impensole.
Moreover, a big event on August the 17th will be offering musical happenings, dance and performances with local products and fine wines tasting from 19:30 pm to midnight. Thanks to the collaboration with Associazione Produttori Ciliegiolo di Narni, international guests and artists will be able to enjoy wines delicacy in a variety of evenings dedicated to the promotion of land resources.
