Elia Chiesa graduated from the “Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia” in Rome with full marks and an honorable mention. In 2018 he received a scholarship from the Swiss Government (ESKAS) being selected as one of the best foreign students in Swiss universities and he entered Corina Belcea’s class (Quartetto Belcea), with which he obtained a Master Diploma in “Music Performance” at the Hochschule der Kuenst in Bern, receiving honors.
He is currently a professor at the “Conservatorio S. Giacomantonio” of Cosenza in Italy.
In addition to performing as a soloist, starting from 2016 he founded the Quartetto Eos as First Violin, winner of the “F. Abbiati” 2018, First Prize at the international chamber music competition “Orpheus” in Zurich and awarded in other international competitions (International Anton Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf, Sergio Dragoni Competition in Milan).
In November 2022 their debut album fully financed by the Da Vinci Publishing label will be released, with music by Mendelssohn, Webern and Janacek.
Also in 2022, he will record a CD for the Brilliant Classics label, entirely dedicated to the Italian composer E. Wolf-Ferrari.
Since July 2022, he has been part of the Fondation Singer-Polignac in Paris, as Artist in Residence.
Elia Chiesa has numerous concerts and collaborations with important festivals, concert societies and associations throughout Europe, including Società del Quartetto di Milano, IUC Istituzione universitaria di concerti, Amici della Musica di Firenze, Bologna Festival, Fondazione I Teatri Reggio Emilia, Oratorio del Gonfalone, Lingotto Musica, Amici della Musica Walter De Angelis, Davos Festival, Zimmermannhaus Brugg Kunst&Musik, Teatro Vittorio Emanuele Messina, Musikdorf Ernen, Amici della Musica di Palermo, Jeunesses Musicales, Teatro Grande di Brescia, Ass. Alessandro Scarlatti, Filarmonica di Rovereto, Filarmonica Romana, Ticino Musica, Amici del Quartetto Guido A. Borciani, Philarmonie de Paris, Associazione Mozart Italia, Fondazione Amilcare Ponchielli, Filarmonica Umbra.
In January 2023 he collaborated with the pianist Enrico Pace and the violinist Davide Alogna for a tour organized by the CIDIM consisting of 12 dates throughout Italy. (Sala Verdi in Milan, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, etc.)
He deepened his study of the chamber repertoire at the prestigious Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona under the guidance of the Cremona Quartet (2017/2021) and is currently part of the Quatuor Ebène class at the exclusive Ebène Academy of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München .
He is also followed by the masters: Alfred Brendel, Isabel Charisius (Alban Berg Quartet), Eckart Runge (Artemis Quartet), Patrick Jüdt (ECMA), Lawrence Dutton (Emerson Quartet) and the Jerusalem Quartet.
He currently plays a 1728 M. Platner violin and a 2015 P. Greiner violin kindly donated by the well-known cellist Valentin Erben (Alban Berg Quartet).
