She manifested a strong musical aptitude from an early age, beginning the study of piano at the age of five and devoting herself to composition from a very young age. She graduated in 1991 from the S. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome under the guidance of Prof. Gabriella Galli Angelini with highest honors. She received the Diploma of Perfection at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia with M.° Felix Ayo. She continued her piano specialization with M.° Konstantin Bogino in Paris and in Rome at the Accademia Angelica Costantiniana. She has been the winner of numerous National and International Competitions. She has performed as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles at the most important concert institutions in Italy and abroad, always receiving wide acclaim from audiences and critics. In 1997, together with violinist Marco Fiorentini, she formed the Ars Duo with which she has won numerous national and international competitions.

Barattelli," Filarmonica Laudamo of Messina, Festival delle Nazioni di Città di Castello, Società del Quartetto of Bergamo, Gog of Genoa, Bologna Festival, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti - IUC, Rome,Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Società Filarmonica di Trento, Ass. Chamber Music of Trieste. For Radio3 Rai he also performed in the review of "I Concerti del Quirinale," broadcast live on national and European radio. Intense activity abroad as well: Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Austria, Germany, Ukraine, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Albania, France, England, Poland, Slovenia, China.

In 2000 he formed the Ars Trio di Roma whose debut took place in the Chigi winter season "Micat in Vertice," and also in 2001 the Trio was awarded the Diploma of Honor from the Academy itself. In the same year the Ars Trio was the winner of the 1st Prize at the International Competition "Città di Pinerolo" and the 1st Prize at the prestigious International Competition "Premio Trio di Trieste" in Trieste, the last Italian ensemble to achieve such recognition. Laura Pietrocini holds regular master classes in piano and chamber music at the Accademia Internazionale Musicale in Rome.
