Giovani talenti e grandi musicisti provenienti da tutto il mondo s'incontrano nella città medievale di Narni dal 10 al 30 agosto: è l'ottava edizione del Festival Luci della Ribalta e 8th International Masterclasses.

Un'occasione unica per gli studenti che, oltre a partecipare alle classi di studio con docenti di fama mondiale, potranno esibirsi sul palco del Festival come solisti, in ensamble di musica da camera o orchestra.

Tra le tante novità di quest’anno uno “Spazio World”, ospitato nelle sale del Museo Eroli e dedicato alla presentazione di arte e cultura di altre nazioni.

La manifestazione darà come sempre spazio non solo alla musica, ma anche alla cultura e all'intrattenimento, con mostre, convegni, seminari ed eventi collaterali.

Anche quest’anno sono più di 50 i concerti previsti in calendario, senza contare happening, flash mob, degustazione di prodotti locali e pregiati vini umbri in collaborazione con Associazione Strada dei Vini Etrusco Romana e improvvisazioni nelle vie e nelle piazze del centro che l’esuberanza vitale, artistica e musicale dei giovani allievi delle Masterclasses e dei loro docenti non faranno sicuramente mancare, così come non mancherà la suggestiva e avvolgente atmosfera sonora e armonica che dalle aule, dai palazzi e dagli spazi aperti, dove si svolgeranno le lezioni e le prove, filtrerà magica e discreta nelle vie di Narni, colorandola e accarezzandola con le sue note antiche e nuove. Il Festival, organizzato dall’Associazione Mozart Italia, sede di Terni, in collaborazione con il Comune della Città di Narni e la Fondazione CARIT, gode del Patrocinio della Regione Umbria, della Provincia di Terni, della Camera di Commercio di Terni, del Comune di Terni, del Comune di Sangemini, del Forum Austriaco di Cultura, dello Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, e dell’Istituto Coreano Culturale in Italia.

Tra tanti ospiti di alto profilo internazionale ricordiamo, il 17 Agosto Fedor Rudin, vincitore di numerosi premi tra cui l’ultima Edizione del Premio Paganini; Felice Cusano, uno tra i migliori violinisti italiani, che incanterà il pubblico con il concerto il 19 Agosto presso la Corte del Palazzo Comunale; il cellista David Eggert, uno dei migliori interpreti; Aron Chiesa, che terrà un recital nella serata del 26 Agosto, Primo Clarinetto solista del Sinfonieorchester Basel e vincitore di numerosi premi internazionali.

La vetrina riservata agli allievi delle Masterclasses, punto di forza della didattica e occasione straordinaria ed ambita di confronto con il pubblico, nell’edizione 2018 raddoppia, con le sale del Museo Eroli che si aggiungono alla sede tradizionale della suggestiva chiesa di S. Maria Impensole nei pomeriggi dal 12 al 29 agosto.

È impossibile elencare ora tutti gli eventi di varia natura che si succederanno, dalle conferenze, ai laboratori, come quello di liuteria, ma anche di arti coreane, come l’origami e la pittura su ventaglio. L’unica certezza è che anche quella di quest’anno si annuncia come un’edizione imperdibile, dove la musica sarà protagonista e motore per momenti artistici straordinari ed incontri unici e indimenticabili con interpreti ed artisti provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.

Gli ospiti dell’edizione 2018 saranno più di 250 e provengono da 5 continenti: 22 paesi, tra cui quest’anno anche India, Messico, Venezuela, USA, e Cina.

This course is addressed to any musician who is aiming to develop his skills in conducting an ensemble, accompanying a soloist, and who is interested in learning the principles of concertation as well as tips for rehearsing. Six days of lessons, playing and conducting will be the core of this course. 

Alessandro Viale is an extremely versatile musician.

Alessandro has been the principal conductor of many orchestras, among which Archi Accademia Nova and Rest Ensemble, which also conducted in radio and television recordings. His wide and comprehensive repertoire, from baroque to contemporary music, is presented with philological insight and attention to the historical performance practices. He has collaborated with such renowned musicians as Vadim Brodski, Ofer Falk, Romain Garioud, Roberto Gonzalez and Giuliano Sommerhalder. He has also performed, in theatre and on television, with actors such as Roberto Herlitzka and Francesco Siciliano.

Appreciated composer, his “Songs of simple desires” for voice and cello has been recently premiered in Estonia. He is the author of the soundtrack to the film “Cam Girl” directed by Mirca Viola.

He recently participated in the Nuova Consonanza Festival, in the Pontino Festival, in the Filarmonica Romana recital series “Assoli”, and with many ensembles including the Imago Sonora Ensemble, the Rest Ensemble and the Ardorè Duo. He has premiered more than thirty pieces written by young composers from many countries. In September 2015 Alessandro recorded "Steps Volume 5: Sixteen Scenes before a Crucifixion", composed by Peter Seabourne, for the label Sheva Collection.

"Alvinio Misciano, great and prestigious character of norcini narnese, represents an important musical history for the city and for Italy. The birth and the fact that its roots remain to Narni it contributes to give thickness to its figure and it helps to promote the historical center and the territory to cultural level over how tourist." The alderman of tourism and culture, Lorenzo Lucarelli, speaking of the great way of origins narnesi to which will be entitled the room cafe of the theater Manini in Street Garibaldi.

"I have stuck and sustained since immediately the initiative of the group of the Republic of Narni that has launched the proposal. Lucarelli still affirms. to build something stable and lasting that you remember the importance of Misciano and the role that the music has had in the history of the city. Another piece of the tourist promotion and a footstep of notable relief also from the cultural point of view and of the sense of affiliation of a community."

The ceremony is scheduled on August 26 when Common, Republic of Narni and association Mozart Italy Terni will discover the plate with which the superior saletta of the theater will be entitled to the memory of the famous Italian tenor. The room will be prepared with documents, photo, articles and poster that ideally remember Misciano and remember its artistic life. In the ceremony there will be city authorities and it will be concluded from a concert in his honor.

Sandra Belic, winner of numeros awards and competitions has performed, in duo and solo, at major festivals in Euope, Israel, China and Japan, countries where she regulartly holds seminars and masterclasses.She is currently professor of cello at the University of Belgrade's Music Faculty.

Sandra Belic graduated under André Navarra at “Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst” in Vienna, cum laude of University.
During the studies she received scholarship of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Culture.
Sandra Belic has recorded for Radio and Television in Yugoslavia, for RAI, BBC and Radio Brussels. She has performed at all important festivals in Yugoslavia, England (City of London Festival, St. Albans, Jordan, Buxton), Italy (Ancona), Spain (Bilbao, Burgos), Russia (Vladimir), Romania (Bacau), Greece (Santorini, Samos), China (Beijing, Shanghai, Tsin Dao), Switzerland (Bern), Hungary (Budapest) and as solo cellist of the "Belgrade Strings“ at "Prague Spring“ Festival.

Sandra Belic, vincitrice di numerosi premi e concorsi, ha eseguito in prima nazionale i Concerti di Jolivet e Tavener e in prima assoluta quello di Borenstein. In duo e da solista, si è esibita nei più importanti Festival d'Europa, Israele, Cina e Giappone, Paesi in cui tiene regolarmente seminari e masterclasses. Attualmente è professore ordinario di violoncello presso la Facoltà di Musica dell'Università di Belgrado.

L’esecuzione del Doppio Concerto di Handel (2013) fu trasmesso nel mondo delle stazioni radio degli USA, con grande plauso della critica.

M° Shalom Budeer will be the teacher of one of the violin masterclass from 13th to 19th August during the 8th International Masterclasses Narni 2018.

Shalom Budeer, born in Russia, began his studies at the age of seven years at the Conservatory of Music.

He later won the entrance examination 'Academy in Moscow where he graduated with honors under the guidance of the famous teacher J. Jankilevich. In 1974 he moved to Israel, where he studied with the renowned M° J. Kless. In 1976 he won the competition of the Academy of Tel-Aviv, performing the concert num 1.of Prokofiev. He later won the selection chamber orchestra of Tel-Aviv, where he worked until his departure for Italy (in 1979), where he still resides.

In these years he is sidekick to the first violins in the Opera Theatre of Rome and has played under the guidance of the most famous conductors such as Meta, Masel, Pretre, Patane, Gavazzeni, De Fabritis, Oren, Muti and many others.

It was one of the founders of the International Chamber Orchestra, where he made the first violin.

He made numerous recordings for RAI, RCA, EDIPAN.

From 1989 to 1991 he held master classes in violin in Montefiascone. Later he was invited as a Professor to conduct international courses to Orense in Spain.

This year, during the 8th International Masterclasses Narni 2018, there will be a new sector: the music of scene.

It will be Germano Mazzocchetti to hold the masterclass in the splendid and medival town of Narni, in the province of Terni. The course is articulated: 

- listening and comment of passages composed by musicians that have written for the scene

- listening and comment of passages written for the theater. Importance of the music in the theater, knowledge of the greatest composers of music of scene from the postwar period to today (Fiorenzo Carpì, Gino Negri, Nicola Piovani, Franco Piersanti etc...)

The lessons will begin the afternoon of August 19 and they will finish the morning of August 22.

L’Associazione Mozart Italia sede di Terni for the 8° edition of the International Masterclasses Narni 2018, makes available to Tenors and Sopranos n° 2 Scholarships of the value of 390,00 EUR each, the total coverage of the course, to participate in the Masterclass "Voice, Opera Study" held by the M° Anais Lee, Soprano. The Masterclass will take place in Narni (Tr) from August the 13th to August the 28th or from August the 21st to August the 28th 2018.

On the evening of August 22 at the court of the town of Narni have taken place the concert of the SerbianTrio Pokret

Founded in 2010, Trio Pokret (Eng: Trio Motion) grew out of the need for three performers who would completely devote themselves to the most current music trends. At the core of their interest are the works of contemporary Serbian composers. Having performed all the existing works written for this kind of ensemble by the local composers, Trio Pokret has “motioned to compel” other composers to write new works. Trio Pokret’s performances of the most current compositions brings energy and excitement to the contemporary Serbian music scene, while at same time enriching the collection of works available for this atypical ensemble. All the compositions by Serbian composers performed in this concert have been commissioned by Trio Pokret. Keeping the trio at its core, Trio Pokret intends to expand into an ensemble that moves and unites other musicians and like-minded artists with a common goal of transforming every new performance into a unique artistic experience.

Also this year is confirmed the course of violin with M° Madlen Stokic Vasiljevic. 
  

The course of improvement will be hosted in the splendid town of Narni from the 22nd to the 29th of August 2018. 

 For a long time, Madlen was a member of the orchestra of arcs "Dusan Skovran" with which held tourneè in Europe and Asia. She also worked with the chamber orchestras "The Teachers of the arcs" and "The real arcs of Saint Gerogie" (2006 -2009).

In 2009, in collaboration with the pianist Maja Mihic, Madlen made a record with passages of the authors Lj. Maric and S. Mokranjac. This work was submitted to the Venice biennal.
Currently she is a teacher in Belgrado University, Faculty of Music.

After completing his violin studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome with honors and special mention, after completing her violin studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome with honors and special mention, Anna Pugliese achieves the High-Level Academic Diploma with an excellent evaluation with A. Chumachenco and perfected again under the guidance of P. Vernikov and O.Semchuk. She graduated brilliantly also in viola, and in Chamber Music at the National Academy of St. Cecilia.Si has performed in the most important European halls in collaboration with artists such as G. Sollima, M. Quarta, P. Vernikov, N. Gutman, A. Specchi, E. Kovacic, A. Meunier, PA Glorvighen etc. As a soloist, she performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, with the Accademia Adriatica Orchestra, with the Orchestra of the University of Parma, etc. The eligibility obtained at the European Union Youth Orchestra 'National Orchestra of the RAI of Turin, the collaborations with the Young Janachek Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Festival of Stresa, the A. Toscanini Symphony Orchestra of Parma, the Teatro San Carlo of Naples and the Ensemble Il Suono italiano inEuropa, they allowed her to play with internationally renowned conductors and soloists such as: L. She also held a recital in Paris for the European Festival JeunsTalents published in CD. Winner of numerous awards, was conferred by the President of the Republic the bronze medal and the Diploma to the Merit of Culture and Art. Her dedication to teaching led her to hold master classes and teach at various Italian Conservatories, including Latina, where she currently holds the violin chair.

The 8th International Masterclasses Narni 2018 is honour to host the young violinist Ying Xue As. She is an accomplished and versatile soloist. Her masterclass will take place from the 21st to the 27th of August.  Find out how to sign up to the masterclass reading our regulation.

Ying Xue As is the second prizewinner of the 2011 International Mozart Competition Salzburg, first prizewinner of the 2007 Corpus Christi Competition, and has won medals at the Hudson Valley, Irving M. Klein International Competition among others. A passionate chamber musician, Ying has collaborated with artists of international acclaim including Donald Weilerstein, András Schiff, Pamela Frank, Kim Kashkashian, and Gidon Kremer among many others. She has been engaged by the Kronberg Chamber Music, Caramoor, Ravinia and Yellow Barn Music festivals, as well as the Winter Chamber Festival in Israel.

After having brilliantly terminated her studies and earned her diploma at the St. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, she participated in a series of internships and Masterclasses with Jolanda Magnoni, Maria Carbone, Gabriele Tuzzi (Indiana University), Paul Spani (Zurich Opera), Mietta Sighele (MusicRiva Festival). She debued in 1989 in the role of Violetta in La Traviata at Sejong Theater in Seoul. A finalist in the International Competition held in Enna (1993) and winner of the “Voce Nuove” competition at the Experimental Theater in Spoleto (1994), she was the leading singer in two world premieres at the Caio Melisso Theater in Spoleto: Ligea by Augusta Read Thomas and Anacleto Morones by Victor Rasgado, this latter staged by Ronconi and with Taverna as musical director. That same year at the Florence Teatro Comunale she was the lead female voice in a modern staging of Piccinni's Bella Verità also featuring Daniella Barcelona. During the past few years, she has successfully taken on important solist roles in various Italian theaters, appearing as the lead singer in Teshuvah at the Abbey of S. Lorenzo in Trento for the Festival Silence and Listening. In addition she participated in the 2004 edition Telethon concerts and, in the past ten years, she has had a role in important tournées in Germany (Hannover), Japan (Tokyo) and Australia (Sydney). Anais Lee is the President of Associazione Mozart Italia sede di Terni, since 2010, the year of its establishment, with the patronage of Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg.

Il corso, indirizzato agli strumentisti, sarà articolato in sei giornate di lavoro teorico e pratico che termineranno con uno o più concerti. Scopo del workshop è quello di essere in grado di condurre un ensemble, di accompagnare un solista, di apprendere i principi di concertazione e della gestione della prova. 

Alessandro Viale è un musicista poliedrico. 

Porta avanti un'intensa attività di direttore d'orchestra, compositore e pianista. È direttore degli Archi Accademia Nova con i quali ha registrato per Radio Vaticana e ha collaborato con musicisti di chiara fama, come Roberto Gonzalez, Marco Fiorini e Massimo Paris. È direttore assistente del Peterborough Male Voice Choir e del Peterborough Voices. La sua attività direttoriale lo ha visto impegnato in produzioni sinfoniche, operistiche e in galà lirici. Come pianista è ospite fisso del Festival di Nuova Consonanza e collabora stabilmente con l'Accademia Filarmonica Romana. La sua carriera concertistica lo ha portato ad esibirsi in tutte le più prestigiose sale, come il Museo del Violino di Cremona e la Fondazione Chigiana di Siena, e in numerosi Festival in Italia e all'estero. Ha di recente registrato il ciclo pianistico di Peter Seabourne “Steps Volume V: Sixteen Scenes Before a Crucifixion”, per l'etichetta Sheva. Ha composto la colonna sonora del film "Cam girl" di Mirca Viola e ha curato numerosi arrangiamenti per orchestra e coro.

Particolarmente attivo nella musica contemporanea è pianista delI'Imago Sonora Ensemble, formazione in residenza presso l'Accademia Filarmonica Romana, e con Rebecca Raimondi ha fondato il Duo Ardorè.
