After the outstanding success of its 2nd International Masterclasses in Narni, the Associazione Mozart Italia sede di Terni is proud to have continued its concertistic activities in Terni with a first performance at Circolo il Drago (Palazzo Abale-Morelli) Via Silvestri Ludovico 20, at 6:30 pm Sunday, the 2nd of December, which was realized with the support of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Terni e Narni and with Casse di Risparmio dell’Umbria. The title of this event, “On the Wings of Song” suggests the nature of the concert, which was dedicated entirely to melodrama. The protagonist of the concert was the soprano Jelena Bankovic who, apart from various recognitions obtained at the international level, also earned herself the “Premio Speciale” at the Masterclasses in 2012 for her exquisite technical and expressive interpretations. Ms. Bankovic was accompanied at the piano by Eunhye Jang, a brilliant instrumentalist who is specialized in collaborative accompaniment. Also present at the concert was the young virtuoso Aron Chiesa, who recently won the first prize at the Concorso Internazionale Clarinettistico Carlino (Udine). The program was occupied by the most charming vocal repertoire, touching the immortal works of Haendel, Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Massenet and Gounod. Also adorning the program is the famous Lied by Schubert for voice, clarinet and piano “Der Hirt auf dem Felsen.” In addition, the evening featured three original solos for clarinet from “I Capuletti e Montecchi” by Bellini, from “La Forza del Destino” and from the “Vespri Siciliani” by Verdi as well as the pianistic version of the famous “Danza” (Tarantella Napolitana) by Rossini.
